Triple shadow transits of Jupiter are the rarest of all transit events, averaging only once or twice a decade.  The next triple transit visible to US observers won’t be until 30 December 2032.

Although Jupiter was well positioned at nearly an altitude of 80°, poor seeing due to an upper level disturbance prevailed during filming of the transit, resulting in a marginally detailed image.
