Anza Borrego Desert State Park

The "Great Anza Borrego Nebula" looming large and threatening to halt a night of observing at the monthly Star Party. This view is looking
west toward San Diego, with the outline of surrounding desert hills sharply etched against the glow of an inspiring sunset.

Following is a short photo tour showing some of the "denizens" of Anza Borrego on new moon weekends.

Now here's quite a group to meet in a dark alley!

Pictured from left to right are John Downs, Mike Caliguiri,
Marshall Payne and Ric Ecker, just arriving and about
to start hauling astro gear out of their cars.

Ric passed away on 21 December 2005 after a valiant battle with cancer. His wit
and easy-going nature will be missed by all of us who had the privilege to know
Ric and share many good times with him under starry skies.
